His scholarly journey spans over four decades of dedicated teaching, institution building, and literary contribution — all rooted in sincerity, humility, and service to Deen.
Born in 1952 in Narayanpur, Ghazipur (UP), he memorized the Qur’an at an early age and pursued his studies at Jamia Sharqiya, Jaunpur before joining Nadwatul Ulama in 1969. He graduated in 1977 with specialization in Fiqh, having learned under some of Nadwa’s most celebrated teachers.
Key contributions across education, da’wah, writing, and leadership
Maulana Khalid Nadwi Ghazipuri was born in 1952 in Narayanpur, a village in the historically rich district of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. His lineage traces back to the respected Siddiqi family. His father, Alā’uddin Siddiqi, served in the Calcutta Police but migrated during Partition and later returned to India under the guidance of his father, Sharif Ahmad Siddiqi.
As the only son, Maulana Khalid was cherished by his family. His early education began in his village’s Maktab Rahmaniya, followed by formal schooling in a Hindi-medium school nearby. A local scholar, Maulana Sirajuddin Qasmi, redirected his path toward Islamic scholarship, encouraging him to memorize the Qur’an.
He pursued Hifz al-Qur’an in the esteemed madrasa of Qari Siddiq Sahib (RA) in Banda, where he completed memorization in two years. He later perfected Qirā’ah under Qari Najib Akhtar at Madrasa Rashidiya, Koath, Sasaram.
His foundational Arabic studies took place at Jamia Sharqiya Shiraz-e-Hind, Jaunpur, under the renowned Maulana Abu al-‘Irfan Khan Nadwi (RA).
In 1969, Maulana Khalid joined Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, enrolling in the Arabic Third Year. He graduated in 1977 with specialization in Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence). His illustrious teachers included:

Shaykh al-Hadith Maulana Dhiya al-Hasan Qasmi Nadwi
Shaykh al-Tafsir Maulana Burhanuddin Sambhali
Maulana Syed Muhammad Wazeh Rashid Hasani Nadwi (RA)
Maulana Dr. Saeedurrahman Azmi Nadwi (currently principal)
Soon after graduating in 1977, Maulana Khalid was appointed by his teacher, Hazrat Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi, to teach at Jamia Islamia, Bhatkal, where he served for 9 years. His teaching spanned from primary to advanced Islamic sciences, especially Hadith, Fiqh, and Arabic literature.
In 1985, he returned to Nadwa and began his association with the Department of Da‘wah and Guidance. By 1986, he was officially appointed as a senior Hadith teacher, eventually teaching Tirmidhi, Muslim, and Sahih Bukhari — the most revered books in Islamic tradition.
